The Lord Weird Slough Feg

Haheheahhehhahahaehhaha they just keep getting better!

Aeternus rules by the way, and so far Pestilence just reminds me of a not-quite-as-good version of Death.

Give it all time...enough of this commenting on albums after one nonchalante listen. Who started that trend? :loco:

Here's some lyrics for you NADster:

"Ack goes the Badger"
by Osgood Slaughter

Sleeps by day, feeds by night,
Flashing teeth, she bears them white,
Claws that dig into cool moist earth,
She's a mammal, she gives live birth,
Anything to defend her young,
Has no weapons, no opposable thumbs,
Cunning creature, she lives in a hole,
Burrowing and feeding and exacting her toll!!

:kickass:  :kickass:

Manilla Road are indeed one of the most brilliant epic metal bands ever. Pure epic heavy metal with its own musical identity and the most sophisticated epic lyrics! Pure and authentic riff attack and VERY CHARACTERISTIC (love em or hate em ) vocals (i love them).
Check Out the following albums
Crystal Logic (their first EPIC album)
Open The Gates (their more classic album)
The Deluge (a little bit more complex and "progressive", still epic)
Mystification (amazing DARK atmosphere and some thrash elements, EPIC AGAIN)

Dude. DUDE. This shit RULES. This is only my first time through the whole album, but MY FUCKING GOAT they are GOOOOOOOOOOD. I'm afraid of what I might do to Scalzi and Cobbet next week, it could get very messy (and gay).

I knew you'd fucking dig this shit. :kickass: x 1000

See what I mean by "weird mix of Killers era Iron Maiden and Vol 4 Black Sabbath, yet all absolutely smothered in Led Zeppelin III. Just good classic metal with a very modern progressive touch"???

I mean, how can anyone NOT like that combo? If you want more CD-Rs, let me know.

It is man, great description. I've gotten goosebumps like 3 times so far, currently on track 5.

I'll seek this stuff out, only if it's priced in Swans territory will I bug you for more CD-R's. :loco:

Get Down Among the Deadmen next. They have a new one coming out this year on Cruz del Sur. And they're touring Europe in a few weeks, but hey, we did get a HoM tour.

All these bands always do spot gigs in San Fran though.

More reason to move there...
HoM, Slough Feg, Leviathan, The Fucking Champs / Weakling, Crebain, Ludicra, and something called Bay Area thrash, heh...yeah, you could set up a webzine just dedicated to supporting that one metropolis.

Where does this band name come from anyhow? I'm finding some reference to an old UK comic, that's it.

The Lord Weird Slough Feg

"Eyes without life...sundered heads...piles of carcasses...these are pleasing words to me"; the favorite phrase of the great villain of this plot. Slough Feg is the old horned god, who refused to die after his seven year reign and has ever since eaten the eggs from the great worm to postpone his death for 20 000 years. Slough Feg has turned his cult towards a death cult and is now the leader of the Drunes, the worshipers of Crom-Cruach.

Dude sounds pretty kickass. :kickass:

Let's see if I can say this without getting killed:

Twilight of the Idols > The Bastard

*ducks*

Let me clarify: I like The Bastard and Twilight of the Idols relatively equally, but TofI really gets me moving. It's bets moments are better than the Bastard's best, but the Bastard is obviously more consistent, being solid all the way through. I mean, I am a moron, but that has nothing to do with which Scalzi/Cobbett albums I prefer. :loco:

That shirt RULES. Just looking at it makes me want to get drunk and blast Slough Feg. :kickass:
