Fuck Akira was fucking awesome. So obvious where roope from stone got hit inspiration from and I love them too.

But damn akira has some sick ass chops.

Yeah, he is awesome.
He came up to our hotel room for a few beers after their gig. :)
Really nice guy, to bad everyone in my "gang" was gone and that he hardly understood what any of us said!

I knew youd post here :loco:

Must have been awesome to chill with him!

one of my all time fav guitarist back in the day......................i doubt the younger lads here know him

Hehe, if an 80's band plays in Sweden i wont miss it! ;)

And yeah, he was a really nice guy, but as i said it wasn't really easy communicating with him, as he hardly understood any English.
He stayed in our hotel room for a pretty long while even though he had to catch a flight 4 in the morning.
Its too bad i was so fucking drunk at the end, because i remember asking him questions about his old gear and that i was kind of chocked by what stuff he used.. but i cant remember it at all! :erk:

Its insane that they get to play some pretty damn big venues in Japan, and this is what they got in Sweden:

Seriously, i almost hit my head in the roof in that fuckin' bar.. and we where ~50 people in there all in all(About 30 watching them play.).
It must feel strange as hell coming from a big stage in Japan to a Swedish stage so close to the audience that they probably could taste our buttcracks.

Sadly we didnt have a camera when they where in our hotel.

Im 21. ;)

its good to hear that young people appreciate bands like this.......if i remember correctly akira used rocktron and metaltronix , mr. Max Norman was the man behind the sound:worship:

Although Lee Jackson has said that Loudness’ Akira Takasaki didn’t use the GP-1000, former Loudness manager Kazuo Sumida weighs in with his recollections:

On the On the Prowl album he had mainly used Lee Jackson’s modded Marshall. I also think his Lee Jackson modified Marshalls were the main gear for the Soldier of Fortune album and tour, but I also remember Akira using the GP-1000 in his house, with a Macintosh Power Amp and JBL speakers. The sounds were really amazing… big sound. The GP-1000 was in the rack case surely, but I did not know when he used a particular preamp. At the Dec. 31, 1989 Tokyo Dome concert he might have used that GP-1000 with Ashley power amps, or it could have been the preamp section of his Lee Jackson-modified Marshall.

Sure the gp needs a shitload of EQ to sound anywhere near the mp1 but that's what rack mounted eq's are for!

I'm glad it made it to a good home. :) I never had a complaint about the GP. It does what it's supposed to, VERY well. My heart just belonged to the MP-1...my first tube amp/preamp. Now, if I could just get another Tri-axis to replace the one I sold to buy the American Strat (which I sold to get my Hellraiser :))...the circle would be complete. :D

just checked....i still have tusk of jaguar on cassette wow i have'nt listened to this in 20 years:guh::lol:

It's home will be on the road soon! I should be another since the thing is 21/22 years old!

It's a finicky pre amp. Alone it doesn't have enough gain, pretty damn thin, and literally no tone options (besides the mid shift) boost and EQ (midi programmable too) makes it awesome tho.

After nocturn hooked me up with some mp1 settings, I can say it sounds fucking amazing. But doesn't have the crunch of the mp1, it's smoother. They make a great duo, (my guitarist plays the mp1)

i'm a massive Akira & Loudness fan... 2 time i ever played live in my life was with a small bar band doing covers, and we did 3 Loudness songs, because i insisted.

i have Tusk Of Jaguar and all the early Loudness, up to and including Hurricane Eyes, on vinyl.
