Been looking forward to this one since the pair of teaser EPs they put out last year. Cool band, hopefully they'll find some success with this album.

They were around for awhile in the late '80s and early 90's but their only album was Condemned. Technical, kind of thrashy doom. They disappeared for awhile and one of the orginal members died. They recorded some stuff and put out two very limited EPs last year. Their sound now is just a little less complex and more doomy, and the vocals are a little more straightforward. New album comes out in a couple weeks. I got it for review.

Condemned is a cult album, for good reason. THough I didn't like it. The vocals were love 'em or hate 'em. I hated 'em. Very high pitched wailing....

"Condemned" is like "Cynic meet Solitude Aeturnus" or "Watchtower meet Trouble". High pitched vocals and technical but DOOM riffs. Havent heard the new one yet, but "Sour Times" opened my appetite for good.

I put on "Unraveled" on stereo some days ago after almost a year. Absolutely fantastic, it loses on comparison with "Condemned" only because of the sentimental value of the first one and the lack of surprise of this one... if that is possible when talking about Confessor.
