Why doesn't it? China pollutes to create the fastest growing middle class in the world, not to mention to produce stuff for Americans to buy. We pollute in order to live convenient suburban lifestyles. Not that I'm some hippie wanting to ban SUVs, but we are in no position to shit on other countries.
