totally agree with you. it's almost "too easy" to create an Opeth looking artwork. I would like to be surprised. But in a good way of course... as long as they keep the logo, I should be fine

Yes, I doubt they'll drop their logo. Aha that would be bad for their legion of tattooed fans.

I don't know about you guys but I would be very disappointed to see an "eerie-foggy nature scene" artwork for their upcoming album. I mean, I do like this kind of artwork but I wouldn't want the new one to fall into a mere second-hand cliché thing. Personnaly, I think we did well with the fakes, but still, it's nothing new IMO. To me, it's important that the coverart has its own personnality, its own flavour.

And that's why I like the Deliverance cover best.

I gratuated is visual arts a few years ago and I can tell you that it's a difficult path. As far as I know, almost every illustrators can't live of their artworks.
