Believe me, I LOVE SymX, and wish them the best, and hope that they put out a masterpiece...

oh, and I am also not saying anything contrary to your opinions or statements right now....I just feel that some people/bands (is SymX one of them? really tough to say - they certainly are NOT the worst) seem to think that they can put up a half-assed web page and update it with the seasons and it will satisfy the fans...that used to be the case back in the 90s when broadband was not around and people got on the net once a day at most...however, the Internet is now a thriving almost LIVING thing that must be "fed" regularly...and up through September, it was going well...there were updates once a month and they mentioned what was going on, and all of that...somehow, after September, it's like someone decided that it wasn't IMPORTANT anymore and they just COMPLETELY dropped the ball, started these "once-every-3-months" updates...again, even if they just said that the "Mixing is complete, now we are starting mastering" or "The final artwork has been selected - it is similar (or if it is completely different, say that) to the artwork you have seen"...just something to keep a high interest level...

And iced earth are losing fans because jon has become a shitty songwriter who fired a fantastic vocalist and replaced him with a weaker one. One who cannot do their previous tracks justice and one who will ruin the much anticipated "Something Wicked" concept. That's why people no longer like Iced Earth, not because Jon doesn't update.

Ok, if you're going to be nitpicky (and by the way, angry =/= irritated), go back and read your first few responses. They sounded pretty angry to me (and i lol'd)

Know what the FUCK you are talking about before you open your mouth, moron...you just "PWNED" yourself...Barlow was never "FIRED"...he left to pursue a career in law enforcement/Dept of Homeland Security after the events of 9/11/01...you SERIOUSLY think that Jon would have CHOSEN to fire Matt Barlow?? Any negative comments about Matt's vocals were all attributed to the fact that "His heart was not in it anymore"...

Hey, some people liked Gettysburg and The Glorious Burden...and actually, TGB was a return to Iced Earth's older style...before Matt, they had screamers...not to mention that if there were more consistent updates, there WOULD be hype around the Something Wicked concept CD...I DO remember the hype starting to build when that concept was first announced...now, thanks to a complete lack of additional info, that hype has cooled to near freezing...

Anyway, that's why I lurk...because my opinions are not popular...I did feel like getting it out today (my opinions and irratation at seeing Iced Earthian updates)...

One comment about the updates...are they even done MIXING the album?? In December, the update said that Mixing was scheduled for January...it is now heading towards the end of February, which means Mixing for PL is complete, right?? Couldn't there be an update that says at least THAT? I don't even necessarily want exact, to-the-second track times...just general, what are they doing this month things...at least update once a month...again, I don't even want/expect daily or weekly updates...but monthly (at least as long as the creation of the album is in progress) would be quite appreciated...

yes, a favorite book series of mine (the first fantasy book series that I had ever read)...oh, and I haven't bothered to change it since I registered and put that location down back in 2003, when I was 17...just turned 17, at that...

I am still continuing because I want to really get my thoughts out there, and get people to see that updating once every three months is bad business practice...again, read my above post for how they could remedy the situation without having to say ANYTHING that they don't want to...I'll even quote it for you...
