Interesting how they quantify scientific advancement. If they used "standard of living" I'd have no problem but I fail to see how the Romans were significantly more advanced than the Greeks, or the Dark Ages significantly less.

Aqueducts, roads, concrete, arches, plumbing etc. One could argue that the Greeks were the greatest contributors to science in antiquity and I would intend to agree. Either way antiquity was way ahead of the Dark Ages. It is not quite accurate to blame the decline on Christianity either, but that's another debate.

The Romans applied all the Greek science to advance technology. The Greeks themselves weren't much interested in advancing technology, only knowledge.

That's a horribly inaccurate graph. The "dark" ages are misnomer.

Agreed, but at least it says "Christian Dark Ages."
