"Jackson Polluck was one of the most influential abstract expressionists of our time, his fluid use of volatile energy emanated throughout his works, specifically through his most well regarded piece "Full Fathom Five". The virulent energy found within seems to depict not only the sardonic depth of the human spirit (as made evident by the alcohol induced thematic), but represents the sexual tension found within the community as a whole with it's portrayal of disembodied male genitalia violently fighting against the acceptance of the community at large. This is shown by making the penises nearly incorporeal in their abstraction, a near identical transcription of the subversive effects of the bourgeoise that refused to acknowledge the role such iconography played in the growth of the male community as a whole during this time.”

I found them very unsettling when I first saw the images, but during a trip to Vienna I felt I had to see them for myself. I couldn't stop staring and looking for every detail. I like them more each time I see them now.

One of my all time favorite's is Gerhard Richter, so I always feel myself drawn toward's blurry, grainy images like the one's above

Checked out a Pellegrin exhibit yesterday, it was cool. The reactions we got from other people as I took my 3 year old daughter through the exhibit was even better.
