So, last weekend was legit one of the best days of my life. Let me explain a little something. I'm a huuuuuge fan of HALESTORM and specifically LZZY HALE and I have been for over 3 years. And I've always wanted to see them live. I had the chance a few years ago at Heavy MTL, but due to car troubles I couldn't make it. And they had a signing session at the festival so I was majorly bummed.
So earlier this year they announced a Canadian tour with Three Days Grace headlining, (they're ok, but didn't really care for them). So this local radio host from C103 Moncton's Rock Station Mandi MacDonald knew I was a HUGE fan of Halestorm, so she messaged me on facebook just before tickets went on sale saying she'd do me a huge favor. The next day she tells me I won tickets to the show for NOV 7th here where I live. At this point I'm excited as shit, because I'm about to see my favorite band play live. This was around like April.
So fast forward to a week before the show. The radio station was running a contest everyday that if you were the correct caller you'd be there Saturday afternoon at the radio station to see HALESTORM perform an acoustic set. At this point I'm bummed because the time they ran the contest was during work, and I wasn't able to call them because the cell reception is really bad. Anywho I went on facebook asking my friends to try and help me get in to see them.
Fast forward to the next day I get a facebook message from Troy Tait just before I leave for work early in the morning, he works with Mandi and another guy called Crawdaddy, these guys do the morning show and they are fucking hilarious. Anyways he asks me if I had a contact number. I said yeah and gave him my cell number. So a few minutes later on my way to work, I get a call from the 3 of them, they tell me they saw my post on my facebook page asking my friends to help me out. And then he proceeds to tell me that they would love to have me there and see Halestorm do their acoustic set.
At this point my face just lit up man. I'm happy as fuck right now. I'm gonna be like mere feet away from LZZY HALE and Halestorm.
So fast forward to the day of the show. I met the entire band and got to chat a bit with them, they are so down to earth man, some of the friendliest people I've ever met.
And I got to snap some pics with them and some from the show (although they weren't that great quality.)
And at the show I managed to catch one pick from the bassist Josh cause he instantly recognized me from earlier in the day and then Joe (guitarist) handed me one after the show was over and they fucking rocked the fucking place. Somehow I lost the pick Joe gave me, probably when I pulled my car keys out it must of fell.
They gave us these to have signed
