The pics thread

If he ^ was of Lego origin he'd have a dot under that hair piece that holds it in place. But such a connection system has it's advantages because you can turn the hair piece around and play peek-a-boo.

Eww given the way that depicts people you'd love the shit my cuz's wife creates. Weird, abstract, pieces of supposed self reflection where faces are on backwards, arms are skewed, legs come out of arses and tits are triangular shape. Each to their own but I'm not into such art.
Fair enough, I guess it just comes down to your tastes. Your wife's stuff sounds good, has she ever thrown up some of her stuff online? On insta or something? Perhaps you could post a link.

When it comes to paintings with a more realistic look I've always liked Illya Repin. Especially these two.

this self portrait always intrigued me, its as if he's looking into your soul and at the same time giving you a glimpse of his own, and clearly its a painful one.

not sure why, but his pieces reach out and "speak" to me. Maybe its a sign that i need to lop one of my ears off.

This reminds me, have you heard of/seen the 2017 film Loving Vincent? I haven't seen it yet myself but I plan to do so for the 2017 film thread, here's the synopsis:

Loving Vincent, the world’s first fully painted feature film, brings the paintings of Vincent van Gogh to life to tell his remarkable story. Every frame of the film, totalling around 65,000, is an oil-painting hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters who traveled from around the world to the Loving Vincent studios in Poland and Greece to be a part of the production.

Sounds really cool.
