They're also a bitch to find because anyone can see the ones out in the open but they mostly grow in leaf litter. The pictured were found close to a river bottom in a briar tangle. 3 guys searching for about 4 hours.
I think these are all Morchella rufobrunnea and Morchella elata... not that those really matter much.
I'm doin some hunting today myself. Problem is patches around here are sparse and there's regulars who know everything about them. Fingers crossed for a new one.
