The pics thread

The non-metal part of my record collection is actually much bigger, but that'll take too long. At any rate, this is only tip of the Metal stuff...I waste way too much of my life on collecting music. :goggly:

Very nice. Is that a rare pressing of Burning Star? I have that but with a different cover, the one with the spaceship.

No idea. I found it in some record store in Ann Arbor, next to U of M. It's really rockin' stuff, which really left their sound on every subsequent release. Not to say that "A Distant Thunder" and "Nosferatu" aren't great though.

Yeah it's a really great album, but the only one of theirs that I have. Hopefully I'll track some more down soon.

edit - to Jean-Pierre, obviously.

They're really easy to find. At least in the east to mid Michigan area. Don't know about Oz. :p

LATE EDIT: I mean the albums other than the first. I'm sure you can find a copy of at least the 3rd and 4th from any American distro for a cheap price, not too bad shipping.

No, the real sad part is that isn't accurate at all. They're often MUCH stupider.

Recently I decided to go on a giant OCD-spree and create a personal budget in Excel. Behold the splendor:

I started something like that, but got really lazy.

Perhaps it's time I go back to it..

EDIT: Mine is not that complex because I'm assuming you're using lookup functions and whatnot.

Yeah dude, it's totally awesome.

Of course, it helps that I've been forced to essentially master Excel at my internship over the past two months now.

It's a good skill to have. I don't do something that complex with Excel unless I either have a template set up for something or it is for work. Usually it is just something really rough that I'm able to follow since it's for my use only. Taking a class on Excel helped my ability immensely. Lookup functions are one of the most useful functions Excel has to offer.

Yeah, I inherited this giant gob of shit at work that someone had made a year or two ago to generate quotes for the company's buyers. It had everything - giant databases over multiple sheets, formulas of all varieties, hundreds of named ranges, hand-made macros, back-end sheets... and no comments or documentation anywhere. Plus, the person who made it didn't even work there anymore. Since no one else there was particularly good at Excel, I took on the task of updating it and making the additions they needed. It was definitely the best self-teaching experience I've ever had.

It would be interesting to take a look at that.

Just created a promo flyer for my radio show. I'm running it by you guys first before I start making copies and putting it up on bulletin boards across campus.
