The Scattering Of Ashes

Don't get me wrong when I say this, I love the album, and I think it is what the follow up to BiO was ment to be. But it isn't my favorite album. I actually prefer DoD and BiO to this one...Must say, I don't really like the King Diamond thing that stu does in a couple of the songs...Jim's Drums are better then ever though, I really wish he would just stay with the band for good.

Personally, I don't see all that much similarity in King Diamond (what little I could stand to hear of it) and Stu's vocals. King Diamond just sounds really fake and cheesy to me... not to mention the fact that it literally induced cringes and "ugh" sounds at the time. I wanted to like them based on some of the riffs I heard before I heard his high-pitched singing, but then the singing went and ruined it for me.

For whatever reason, Stu's high-pitched vocals don't bother me at all. Maybe it's the force behind the delivery? King Diamond's sounds a bit like he's either wishing he was a woman at times or like he just got kicked in the pills... :p
