Just starting this to say i hope they can get the Tabernacle back in shape for the upcoming shows like Gigantour and Dream Theater, i know its damaged bad, although i haven't saw it personally just by pictures it looks real bad but atleast it is still standing but if its too bad i fear they won't repair it or it will take a long time, and if it does where will those shows be or will they cancel Atlanta all together?..Its hard to See something get so tore up in such a few seconds, and like all the other buildings in Downtown i hope they can get back in order soon. and everyone can get to atleast a little normal life Down in Atlanta..

The official site at www.tabernacleatl.com doesn't mention a thing about the damage, although the next show is listed as March 29th. Kinda weird.

The reason probalby is that they really don't know how much damage that actually happened, like Wiring, Plumbing, Roof, plus all the windows, those windows can't be replaced or atleast with the same kind, it would cost too much if they could even get them, someone said it flooded part of it that aint good, i get the feeling thet won't be no march 29th show there, but i could be wrong and hope i am.

More than likely, it was the Cotton Club that was flooded. If guys recall, the main stage area doesn't have windows, those are all along the hallways outside. So chances are, the stage area didn't sustain any damage. Only thing they'll really have to worry about is the wiring, plumbing and keeping drunk people from falling through the boarded up windows :X

Do they not have an updated website/myspace that would have some info? I really want to hit those shows also...*crosses fingers*

Yeah, ya think they'd have something official posted......

I did a quick search on "Tabernacle Atlanta damage" and tripped across this LiveJournal post: http://community.livejournal.com/atlanta/2774766.html

It has some good pics of the Tabernacle and the area around it the morning after the storm. Might give some idea of how bad it was damaged...

Wow, thanks for the link! That is actually my friend Wendy Darling's blog.

Damage to the Tab looks pretty bad. :waah:

I would venture to say it'll be back up and running by the Dream Theater gig. I wonder if Gigantour can be moved to another gig if necessary? I'd hate to have to miss it.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was the name of a new band.

Seriously, I hope they get the facility up and running soon. I lived in Nashville for 10 years and had plenty of opportunities to witness Mother Nature’s wrath in that part of the country. Scary stuff.

You know, I have to say that out of all the ATL concert venues I've ever been to, the Tab had the best sound, ambience, and atmosphere o any venue I've ever been to, apart from the old Chicago Stadium and Thirsty Whale back in Chi-Town. Hail! I hope the acoustics and vantage points are just as great if not greater after the repairs are completed.

The Thirsty Whale in Chicago has better sound than any venue in Atlanta? Including Center Stage? You have to be kidding right? Thats like saying having a band playing in a closet is better than Center Stage. Although the Whale was a great place to SEE a band I can say that the sound sucked ass. It had terrible acoustics.

Just got an e-mail from Ticketmaster saying the Gigantour show on the 20th has been moved to the Maquerade music park. Definite downgrade, but at least the show is still on!

I'm actually really looking forward to this show being outdoors. We can pretend that it is Wacken or something. :kickass:

Head east on North Ave from I-85. Its a few miles down on the right. Big field behind the Masquerade.
