Hi, all. My take on the legendary Black Beauty! Recorded in 16bit, 44.1K stereo .WAV files. I sampled her with a Sennheiser 421 top mic, Beyer m201 bottom mic, and as overheads, Neumann KM 84s in an x-y position as close as I could get to my head, to best approximate the sound the drummer hears from his perspective. Articulations include: soft, medium, hard, crack and rimshot, all with with left and right hand strokes. My methods were designed to create a sound that will sit in a mix with little to no processing, but the sources are recorded dry. Feedback is welcome. Hope you all enjoy and please let me know what you think!

If anyone is willing to make TCIs, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks so much for this great forum, I look forward to your comments. :heh:

dude huge props for all these samples you've been throwing up as of late. it would be nice if they were in 24-bit, but that's just me being nit-picky...can't complain about some good-sounding free shit.

also, i noticed you've mentioned having someone make tci's for your samples, but i don't have trigger...i can make/share some .gog's of them though for all us old-school drumagog guys if you'd like

I could make a TCI. question though, There's 5 different velocities. soft through crack, and a rimshot. Would you put the rimshot as the highest velocity, or on a different articulation? They sound a bit different so I dunno if you'd want the rimshots in there all the time.....

This is my favourite of your samples so far. Thank you for them all! I finally have some free time this weekend to play with them, I will post clips if I come up with something I like.

Great samples, thank you! I love the Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum and these samples are very well done \m/
