It has probably been done before, but if you could create the "Perfect" Metal Band, who would you choose to be the band members?
Here's my choice:

Lead Singer - Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), I like his voice in "Slave to the Grind" and from what I've heard, his new stuff doesn't suck either.

Lead Guitar - Glen Tipton (Priest) Can I choose Downing as well?

Rhythm Guitar - Dymebag Darrell (Pantera) He playes some of my favourite riffs.

Bass Guitar - Dave Ellifson (Megadeth) I know, why not Harris?

Drummer - Igor Cavalera (Sepultura) I on the other hand, like the tribal sound of Sepultura. He probably is the odd one out but I think it will sound cool.

Vocals - Greg Graffin (I know he's not a metal singer but I love his voice)
Guitar - Jesper Stromblad
Guitar - Jon Schaffer
Guitar - Jerry Cantrell
Bass & vocals - Beefcake the Mighty
Violin - Robby Steinhardt
Drums - Raymond Herrera

Are you kidding me? Anyway, I crafted the ultimate Thrash/Speed Metal band:

Vocals: Tim Owens
Lead Guitar, backing vocals: Kai Hansen
Rythm Guitar: Frank Blackfire
Bass, backing vocals: Tom Angelripper
Drums: Dave Lombardo

We just played this, isn't it? Oh well, another version

Rick Mithyasin: Vocals
James Murphy: Guitars
Roland Grapow: Guitars
Geezer Butler: Bass
Bobby Jarzombek: drums

Vocals - Mike Patton
Lead Guitar - Lord Tim
2nd Lead Guitar - Erik Peterson (Testament)
Rhythm guitar - James Hetfield
Bass - Les Claypool
Drums - Gene Hogland (Strapping young lad, and some testament)

otherwise, i reckon get rid of dream theaters singer and put in lord tim for Vocals and guitar. that would be godlike me thinks.

WOOOOOOOOO Boust

The Good Doc

The ultimate metal band already exists. They're called JUDAS PRIEST!!!!!! haha

Seriously, this is a cool thread, Zeppelin. I love these kinds of things.....here would be my pick for brilliant sonic metal mayhem............................

Rob Halford on vocals
Dimebag on guitar (lead)
Zakk Wylde rhythm/lead
Steve Harris - Bass
Lars on Drums

surely they could make some noise

Hmmmm.. My ultimate line-up changes all the time. At the moment I think..

Vocals: Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
Lead Guitar: Randy Rhoads (Ozzy)
Rhythm Guitar: James Hetfield (Metallica)
Bass: Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)
Drums: Either Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory) or Igor Cavalera (Sepultura)

They would kick some ass!! :headbang:

P.S. There's a lot of competition for lead guitar, could have also gone with Zakk Wylde, Dimebag Darrell, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Joe Satriani and the list goes on :D

A few more line-ups :

or

vocals : Rob Halford (in his prime)

guitars : Kai Hansen
bass : Steve Harris
drums : Bobby Jarzombeck

or

vocals : Flemming Rönsdorf (Artillery)
guitars : Lee Altus (Heathen)

drums : Gene Hoglan

or

You know what I'd really have liked to see? Remember when Dave Mustaine asked Jeff Waters to join Megadeth? Woohoo, that would have been a killer guitar team! No matter how much I dig Annihilator and Megadeth the way they were in the 90s I still think that might have been the line-up to really show Metallica the tail lights.

That is one of the coolest lineups I have ever seen. That band would have peeled the paint off the walls !!

or

vocals: Geoff Tate
guitars : Jim Matheos (Fates Warning)

I've always thought about these two working together.

Yeah I know, that's a 'dream' line-up... if I had to choose only living members, I would replace the departed geniuses by George Lynch, Glenn Hugues and Ian Paice.

Thrash band:

Vocals ; Nicole Lee (Znöwhite)
drums ; Dave Lombardo
guitars ; Scott Ian
guitars ; Mustaine (and quit moaning now!)
Bass ; Lemmy

Metal Band;

Vocals ; Geoff Tate
drums ; Bud Burill (Culprit)
guitars ; Michael Romeo
guitars ; Steve Vai
Bass; Billy Sheenan

Worst band ever;(cannot resist again)

Vocals ; Dani (CoF)
Guitar ; Slash
Guitar ; Lenny Kravitz (second Hendrix my ass)
Bass ; cannot think of bad one now, I would do...
Drums; Lars Ulrich (with the Saint A. drum sound)
