The Ungay Power Metal Thread

Okay, I hesitated to post a thread like this because I know theres a ton of power/prog fags on this forum who listen to shit like sonata arctica and rhapsody or whatever. But last night (or 4 am in the morning more accurately)
I was way digging Manticora whom I haven't thoroughly listened to in years. This shit rules. Could be that they are more speedy/thrashy then your standard PM band, but give more ungay stuff like that (IE, headbangable, and not every melody is super happy). Jeff_Loomis Fan is not allowed to post in this thread.

Every time I listen to Pagan's Mind (which is never), I think it's pretty cool.

Symphony X absolutely crushes.

But that's about as power metal as I can possibly bring myself to be.

There's tons of non-gay power metal. It's just that in order to lose some of the gayness, the heterosexual power bands usually cross over into another genre, like Iced Earth (Power/Thrash), for instance.

LOL. Ya know, I saw em in like 2003 and way dug em, but that time I couldn't get into it that much. Weird, I guess just changing tastes.

Brainstorm is bad ass! im not a huge power metal fan but i like to give it a chance
