I searched for a similar thread but anyone falling even distantly close is either too old or too vague.

Who are your favourite vocalists genre/style-wise?

Mine would be:

Black Metal Shrieks: Roman Saenko(Drudkh/Hate Forest), Grutle Kjellson(Enslaved) and Nortt(Nortt) are both quite near perfect for me, but Quorthon(Bathory) beats them all.

Death/Doom Metal Growls: Guillaume(Gorod) and Mikael Åkerfeldt(Opeth).

Clean Vocals: Layne Staley(Alice in Chains).

There's way too many to choose from.. so, these are the ones coming to mind at the moment.
 
Black Metal Shrieks: Ken sorceron - abigail williams, dani filth - cradle of filth

Death/Doom Metal Growls: Mikael Åkerfeld - opeth , blue jensen - guttural secrete, Mitch - Suicide silence

Clean Vocals: howard jones - killswitch engage, jeremy depoyster - the devil wears prada

deathmetal growlz: frank mullen (first 2 suffo albums)

doommetal moanin n groanin: whoever the guy is in thergothon is pretty good

clean: in metal? rob halford and bruce dickinson.....nonmetal.......jenny lewis (rilo kiley), bilinda butcher (my bloody valentine)....idk a fucfkin bunch

Death metal: Gurge (Lord Gore)
Doom metal: Rainer Landfermann (Bethlehem; most insanely fucked up vocals I've ever heard!)
Clean: King Diamond, Rob Halford
