I will defend the use of strategy guides for use with RPGS following beating the game without it. You gotta go back and get all the secrets. If you don't, some RPG police should hunt your ass down and beat you to death like the dog you are. To do that I ran the counter in FFVII higher than it could count. Granted that was only up to 99:99 but that is seriously a long time but when you cut into Sephiroth with an X-summon of Knights of the Round and then mime that shit with your three other characters, their is a surreal joy in not only defeating your nemesis but utterly destroying him with your supreme prowess, smiting his ruin upon the gaping maw of the crater. But you shouldn't do that until after you've struggled through using your last phoenix down to revive the only character in your party that has revive magic and in a final misguided attempt to use your level 3 limit break to unexpectedly defeat him on the 3rd try despite how overmatched you are.
