So i was reading this review of this record from GOJIRA (France) on Blabbermouth ... high rating ...

the review is pretty dead on, except the Messugah bit.

they sound like a heavy fucking Mastodon, once Mastodon got their all their instruments to play n'sync.

but more like an ISIS with vocals ... with a touch of Voivod ... but some blast beats and pure heaviness.

Most of you should really eat this stuff up ...

this band has a couple of tracks on this disc that sound the closest as anyone has come to emmulate the vibe of Voivod + add their own touch to it ... that in itself is an accomplishment

Don't get him started on Gojira ..

Their recent success remains a mystery for me , not that the actual quality of the musicanship is questionned by anyone but they are not catchier nor benefit from a greater promotion than other French bands (now yes but back in 2000..) . At least they did not steal their recent "hype" but that's all I can say on their behalf.
