Hey guys,

I'm currently looking at getting a Zilla Fatboy 2x12 cab built for studio recording use as my Marshall 1960av is too loud for my current living space.

I've always used v30 loaded cabs for recording metal in the past but am looking at possibly trying out some greenbacks.

I'd love to hear your opinions on the current options I'm thinking of:

2x Celestion Greenbacks (G12M's)
1x Celestion v30 and 1x Celestion Creamback Combo
2x Celestion v30's

Any recommendations?

I got a Zilla Fatboy a few months ago and it's awesome. I went with two V30's in mine and don't regret it.

I've got Vintage 30's and G12 EVH's in my Marshall 4x12 and they sound great together.

To my understanding, a 2x12 isn't that much quieter than a 4x12, though. If you really want to keep the volume down, I recommend you look into having 2 of the lower efficiency speakers like the EVH's.

Got a Zilla Super Fatboy loaded with a V30 and a V-Type and I'm loving it. Whatever speaker you'll end up with, you can't go wrong with Zilla, build quality is on par with my Mesa cab.
