Scrapped that idea, decided to just get my master divers certification asap and star teaching diving, or working as a comercial diver.


I just wanted to find a way to be underwater for my job =) =)

much better choice than the Navy ... get good at it and move to some exotic carribean island and teach hot tourists

from your experience how much does it cost to go diving? lessons? etc.
i'd really like to do some dives this summer.

Go with the diving certificate. I have a bunch of bro's who are marines. It's not for everyone.

If so, did a quick search and in new york these are some prices for basic PADI Open Water Diver certification

This is the course (its the same standard course at all PADI dive centers)

All of our classes meet at Adventure Scuba.
Semiprivate Classes

* Booked as needed
* 2 Sessions: a session is any night we have pool time from the hours of 6-10pm (you may complete program in any combination of days)

Weekend Executive Lessons

* Booked for Saturdays: only one day.
* Class is limited to 2 to 3 students per instructor
* We can accommodate only 8 students per weekend so these book up extremely fast.
* $350.00 per student.


Private Weeknight Lessons

* Booked for two sessions from the hours of 6-10pm
* Limited to one student per instructor.
* An excellent way for someone not that comfortable in the water to successfully learn to SCUBA dive in a stress-free environment. The individualized attention you receive will assure your comfort and safety.
