Thinking of trying active p/u's again....

I've been using mainly Duncan JB's, Full Shreds, Distortion, etc. and am thinking of giving active pickups another try....

Before I go out and buy an EMG 81/85 set, does anyone think it would be a mistake to not consider the Duncan Blackouts? If I go with the EMG's, do you guys suggest running 9V or 18V?

Some of the tones I'm really liking lately are off The Haunted's Dead Eye and Revolver album, so that's the direction I'm trying to go with my tone ATM.

Cheers.

I love my bridge Blackout over EMG's any day. They just seem more full but then again I'm not using a very high gain pre amp so extra output without a boost is a plus.

I've got a new 81 boxed up next to me if you're interested ;)

I also plan to buy active pickups, either Emg 81/85 or 81/60. I need your opinions about Duncan Blackout, because I've never played a guitar having them.. I know Mick Thompson from Slipknot used them in their last album instead of Emg
