This better fucking stop before it fucking starts.

It looks fine for me:

Well, even if it is intentional, someone's gotta pay the bills.

The "Metal on eBay" thing is only supposed to be on the main page sidebar... Sometimes I get things like this too...

I find that UM doesn't work well with Opera or Firebird. It works fine in MyIE2 (modified IE)

Uh? There's nothing wrong with Firebird's rendering of any parts of UM as far as I can tell... Now Opera is a total piece of crud so that'd be understandable. Also, even if this MyIE2 beast is "modified," they can't really have modified the actual rendering engine as that is very much a closed-source black box.

The problem shown in the original post is likely to be VERY temporary. Bother Mark about it and he'll probably see what he can do. Sorry, but calling Mark greedy is plain fucking silly. I bet he still loses lots of money over this.

For what it's worth...

Firebird 0.7...

I never liked Firebird... Never worked for me, I'm fine using IE on any Windows comp. Sure it sucks, but it's good enough for UM.

MyIE2 isn't a beast, but it improves on IE and works faster than mozilla, opera, netscape, etc. on my comp. plus it clears internet history and cookies every time you close it.

I meant, uh, I just meant that since it can't change the layout engine whatever results you get with MyIE2 should be the same with a regular vanilla IE.

I can't really use IE anymore without going insane after becoming accustomed to built-in popup blocking, type-ahead find (you have no idea how useful this feature is until you use it all the time - basically you just type the first few characters in the link you want to go to and press enter and you're redirected to that link... No more fucking around with the mouse pointer over long lists of links to find what you're looking for. But I digress), tabbed browsing and ABOVE ALL FUNCTIONAL FUCKING CSS AND PNG SUPPORT. MICROSOFT, FIX YOUR FUCKING CSS BOX MODEL AND PNG TRANSPARENCY BEFORE I PERSONALLY CRUCIFY YOU ALL

I'm going off on irrelevant tangents and ranting about stuff noone here cares about again. Ereheherh. I should really learn to keep out of browser discussions. It's just that it's very easy to quickly learn to loathe IE when one tries to do standards-compliant web design.

Yeah, I've notified Mark. What you need to do is go into your user cp and check either the "Do Not Show Toolbar" or "Show Standard Toolbar" options under "Use vBCode quick links on your message input screens?" in the Options section. The "new, enhanced" toolbar makes input focus into the quick reply box not work under Firebird for some reason.

I hope the problem is temporary as well (even if it doesn't show up for me). Mark also doesn't deserve to be called greedy as I'm sure it's just a glitch. He also spends a lot of money and time on this place. It runs well compared to other places I visit...

I've always used IE since it's easy usage and all websites look good on it. I do agree with it being open to downloading unwanted junk programs, viruses, and being a slow piece of crap for some sites.

It doesn't matter to me though as I only go to a few sites and mostly they don't cause problems for IE (I'm sure a lot of sites including my own would look crappy in other browsers... and ignorance is bliss). IE also has the Autocomplete feature for the links to fill in at the address bar (if that's what's being mentioned). I don't use it though. I'm glad the large toolbar thing isn't permenantly at the top. *shiver*

Here is my sugar induced post of the day.

Mmm... one of our board members has x-rated links in his links toolbar. :D Nice. ;)
