This guy rips at guitar (video)

HAHA, I just noticed that he looks off into the distance in one of the shots...sadly, I've watched this about 15 times. See what happens on mix days?

Shawn Lane was a guy who was stupid fast but he did actually write good songs. I've also seen some of his improv stuff where he was just shredding like nothing I'd ever seen before. I don't really care for insanely fast playing generally. There's a point when it becomes like someone eating 30 hotdogs or riding a bicycle backwards: impressive but very boring. This is just my opinion of course.

Yeah, david gilmore put 10 notes in 48 seconds and its mor eimpressive than tons of notes IMO...

but most of us don't have the unhloy amount of talent gilmour posseses, so we must seek out othe rmeans :Spin:

taking time to put expression and emotion into a song is the best thing lead wise for a guitarist IMO. I've been working on it lately...not there yet, but I'd rather play a slow emotional solo than a ton of notes...which I can do...just not that fast...man lol.

Going fast gets old for me I guess...its cool now and then, but after awhile I wanna go back to real solos.
