This is so hilarious

I've listened to all of Opeth's Cd's..BWP is BRILLIANT in a different way than Opeth's prevoius releases..It's just a melancholy, complex and emotional, brooding, well produced and the harmonies are just beautiful and the title track is just crushing..BWP is underrated and even though I prefer MAYH (my fav opeth CD) BWP was wonderful, well written and just breathtaking..Hails..-l-

First I like Deliverance. I liked it right away...
Sounds like a cross between - MAYH, Still Life and BWP.
There are elements of each of those albums as well as a few new twists. I do wish that Opeth had a few more dual acoustic interludes and I kind of dislike how songs end (same problem I had with BWP - those epic endings are boring some times). Overall though, it's a good album and a bit more of an enjoyable listening experience on the whole than BWP, which I also enjoy.
However, I think I really would like to see Opeth go back to Dan Swano as the producer and maybe also going back to the Fredman studios (MAYH and Still Life) to produce the next album after Damnation.

lol...i guess MacMoney opinions are still the same and he didn't listened to BWP again to discover that's actually a great album :p

I've listened to BWP many a times. I even owned it for a while but traded it away.

Someone just had to throw in an anti-BWP post, didn't they....

It wasn't an anti-BWP post. I find Still Life to be as boring as BWP and MAYH, while it is definitely better than SL and BWP, isn't that good either.

To everyone of you Deliverance naysayers: I cannot wait until about 1 month from now when you guys have actually listened to the album more than once or twice; when you begin to praise it like its the second coming.

I also cannot wait, people are just posting after listening to all the way through at most 2 or 3 times(although I'm willing to bet most haven't even listened to it in it's entirety once). The reviews of people who had the promo copy speak for themselves, I haven't read a bad review of it yet..infact the only negative remarks I've ever read have all been from people who first heard it when they bought the CD this week. And it's almost exclusively from people who thought Blackwater Park was the peak of Opeth's career.

I dunno, it seems like people are expecting it to be the second coming of music or something, it doesn't break any musical barriers or even add anything groundbreaking to the Opeth catalogue, it's just the best of all their work wrapped into one convenient package..but to be honest, every Opeth album after Orchid has been the same(the same as in not groundbreaking..just does different things with the same tricks and techniques), apart from Blackwater Park which was a Porcupine Tree album with a few signs of Opeth in there too..

And some people don't like Deliverance also post stuff like "I find every album apart from BWP boring", then why the fuck are they buying an album that was specifically labeled a heavy album? There's definitely two types of user on this forum, people who like Opeth and people who like one of Opeth's albums.
