Vanden Plas is a progressive metal band from Germany. The musicianship and songwriting is pretty typical of the Teutonic (german) mastery one would expect. The lyrics are outstanding, not typical of the Germans attempting English. The production is also masterful. Check them out.

I agree. They are the band I look forward to the most this year. Their music, vocals, lyrics, and just total package is great. It took me a little bit of time to totally get into them (I think due to their incredible diversity), but they are now one of my regular listening pleasures.

Vanden Plas is great! Although I am more a power metal guy I do love good prog metal and Vanden Plas is definitely one of the best bands in that genre today.

Couldn't agree more... and to everyone else...don't let this band slip by you before PPIV. This band hasn't made it big in the states, but it is not due to a lack of quality music. This band will be talked about after the show nd I'll get the highest honor of "I told you so" replies.

I think VP has alot more fans in the US that some are giving credit for. On the Perp boards and the DT boards to name a few, they get quite a bit of talk here and there. Here's hoping to be able to go to the show and check them out live!

Excellent band!! Highly recommend checking out their LIVE album Spirit of Live just for a taste. They are one the highlights as far as I'm concerned. Never did I think I'd get the opportunity being a German band without much in touring in the US, This is a CAN"T MISS!!
