This is what a live performance should be

If it wasn't for the unbelievably dull music I'd agree. Sortof. Except it's nothing special, I mean sure, people are singing along and the musicians are enjoying themselves, but isn't that normal? What dull gigs do you go to?

If anyone watching this video thinks it's quite a good atmosphere, go to a frank turner gig and see your standards take a serious shift. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDSrXaqXnPI&feature=related[/ame]

i would've never guessed music like this would draw such amounts of people to see it being played live, let alone get that excited about it.

I think a lot of metal fans forget that most of the world listens to this kinda stuff. I think we represent a very small cross section of general music tastes. I mean , of all the people I know, only about 20% of them listen to shit like Aborted. And I try to surround myself with metalheads.

Country/ folk/ christian music is WAY bigger than metal will ever be.

i try to be aware of general music tastes but you're probably right... they probably differ more than i realize in different parts of the world. around here people don't really care that much about any of those three, which is absolutely fine by me.

I don't think it's necessary to explain why you like some kind of music. I hate most metal/metalcore/deathcore for example. Like... 90% of all metal bands I know suck. It's called taste and I'm glad people don't have the same.

I find it kinda sad that you're in the music business and you can't appreciate something like this. Look at the joy on the performer's faces, and listen to the crowd. Deindividuation isn't always a bad thing.

Oh yawn bro. I find it kinda sad that you're refusing to allow me my own perceptions.

Ditto btw. My favourite music is most often not metal. I worship at the alter of Radiohead, amongst others.

As I said, I do like this kind of music. I just struggle to understand what people particularly find good about Mumford and Sons and wondered if someone who likes them could explain their viewpoint.

It's great that people have different tastes, I'd love to understand more of them!

whats with all the hate? I LOVE these dudes. The music really hits home for me (broken heart/love yada yada) and its catchy as fuck. I really want to see them live if they ever are around here

Some random person posted this video on facebook and I stumbled upon it. I'm not a fan of the song or the singer but I thought it was kinda cool how she was taken by surprise and became emotional after the audience started singing. Seemed like an appropriate thread to post this.

I love the shit out of Mumford & Sons but I would seriously not enjoy being at that concert.

I will say there is a huge discrepancy I've noticed between European and American crowds - the Europeans are way more prone to singing along to fucking anything, be it the actual lyrics, a guitar riff, a bass line, etc.

Nobody in the states ever sang along to the guitar riff in Seven Nation Army, but it's a football anthem across the pond.
