So I was surfing for new bands and came across this band called "The Legend". They're kinda like so many other Core bands out there but still I quite like these guys.

Anyways I found that the guitar sound has this sweet metallic sound. I've heard a couple bands having quite similiar tone but I think this one might be a bit clearer.

So the question is. How can we manage to get that sound?

I bet it's something like POD and I don't have that. Nor do I want one. But there must be another way to do that. Fresh strings ofcourse. Maybe even ridicilously thick ones? TSE 808+TSX30+Catharsis awesometime? (My current favourite setup for virtuals)

I'm not sure if I ever will use this type of sound though. Might not suit our music but it never hurts to know more.

Oh and a link to the band: hhttp://www.facebook.com/LEGENDMI?sk=app_178091127385

They recorded with Zeuss one of his not so good work but the guitars have that typical Zeuss Metallic-sound.

To get an even better impression check out the arcacia strain, icepick, remembering never, ion dissonance....

Zeuss NEVER uses amp simps. He uses a "typical" high-end setup, so I would say it has something to do with how he mics the cab and the room in which cab stands

Thanks for the input! Geeze that's a really clear tone for a real amp. That man has some serious talent. You don't happen to have any info on the way he mics his cabs?

not realy, only gossip about using a md421 and an sm57 side to side on axis....

and about clean.

A mesa OS with an 5150 and a tubescreamer will give you a way more clean sounding high gain tone then any amp sim

Correct

the band is just called Legend.. its fronted by Chad Ruhlig (ex For The Fallen Dreams)

and the full length "Valediction" was recorded with Zeuss and is definitely the guitar sound your speaking of

while the new record called "The Pale Horse" as well as the "Proven" single were recorded with RandomAwesome!

hope this clears up any confusion!

all correct. and hey the mix on valediction was great even if it wasn't one of zuess's best it still is such a freaking killer album

im kinda let down on the new stuff its good but... im not feeling it as much as the other album the mix is missing that zuess low end fullness and the glitch effects just dont have the right flow. but thats just my own opinion
