i didn't say he sucks, i said that he should play leads, if he can (and he obviously can). IMHO it is a waist to throw such technique down the drain. And if he didn't want to do leads, he should have taken out the strings in the first place. just my opinion.

dude, listen, i'm entitled to my OWN opinion, and i like music with guitar solos. Is there a problem? I listen to some bands that don't do guitar solos, negura bunget for example, but if he can play leads, he can surely play a guitar solo that would fit the song like a glove, or do a lead fill. It is just my fucking opinion. And yes i know something about writting music, and in the music that i intend to write, i will try for the best of my ability (theoritical too, not only sweep arpeggio kind of technical ability) to play guitar solos. If you don't like guitar solos, there are a tons of bands and artists that don't do them!
Also he could have gone with a max cavalera like someone else mentioned

It is there because he focuses on the rythm playing (which by the way is damn tight) and don´t want unwanted noise from those strings.
