Haven't heard Wilco, butI like the heavier Son Volt stuff, so I probably would like that. Pink Floyd rips as well. To me, the "perfect album" isn't metal, but close......

AC/DC - "Back in Black" I am not really even a fan of Johnson era AC/DC except Bib and FTAtR but that release doesn't have a weakness. In fact, I would even dare to say, the album is technically brilliant. AC/DC is a "three-chord rock band" and will probably always will be, but the timing and metre of that release (probably due more to Mutt than the band) is so precise it's incredible. The only bands I have heard with that kind of accuracy were German masters Accept and to a lesser extent The Scorpions.

Though I typically hate radio rock.... and people can dog me if they want to, Nickelback's latest release rocks. I wouldn't call it "perfect" by any means, but if I make a "Nickelback rocks" post, I will get attacked from 40 angles, so I will do it here. >:p~ I'll buy their next one......

A brilliant album. Good call.

I'll add:

Jeff Buckley - Grace
Jeff Buckley - Sketches For My Sweetheart the Drunk

Chris Cornell's "Euphoria Morning" is nearly perfection.

Both amazing albums by an amazing artist.

Some of my faves:

Mansun - Six (mansun were one of the best british indie acts ever, very deep and meaningful stuff)
Muse - Sunburn
Explosions in the sky - Those who tell the truth...
Grandaddy - The sopthware slump

All as close to non-metal perfection as you can get IMO.

Hmm...I would have to say some of mine are:

Grandaddy - Under the Western Freeway
Silverchair - Diorama
Mellowdrone - A Demonstration of Intellectual Property (and the rest of his songs)
Blackmore's Night - Shadow of the Moon
Collide - Some Kind of Strange
Jethro Tull - Original Masters
Supertramp - Even in the Quietest Moments
Jeff Wayne - Musical version of War of the Worlds

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here
Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd-The Wall
In Extremo-Gold
In Extremo-Hameln
Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin I
Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin-(Untitled from 1971. It's way too over-played though)
Mortiis-The Stargate

Meat Puppets - II
Envy - A Dead Sinking Story
Mott The Hoople - All The Young Dudes
King Crimson - Red
The Cure - Disintegration

That Soundgarden album is amazing. I think I might be the only person who love Down on the Upside the most, though.

Yeah I like both Soundgarden albums, probably Superunknown more though since it's the album that got me into soundgarden...

A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley

Those are the only two I can think of...
