one thing i kept wondering about while listening to the haven cd:
rundown sort of sounds misplaced on this album. it's a great song, but the production differs from the rest. it's not as loud as the other songs and has a different sound to it. as if it were recorded on another day in another place.
and now people like the doctor will kick me in the head for asking these questions which surely can be answered from the booklet which i have been to lazy to look up for hints regarding this subject :)

Yhm... I'm not going to listen through that album right now (as I'm tired and going to bed), but I must say I haven't noticed anything different in the production of Rundown. It certainly is an "odd" song on that album, but not by any means out of place, IMHO.

Emptier Still (which has a partially different production - check the booklet for more knowledge), on the other hand sounds very much out of place on that album. However, although I didn't originally like it at all, I have come to accept and even occasionally to enjoy that sad little song. Perhaps Haven as an album wasn't the best possible place for that track, but it is good enough a song to be somewhere - so why not there where it is.

I've never noticed that the production on Rundown was different than the other songs..? It's a great song...one of the best on Haven!

Btw. I love Emptier still...The riff the kicks in..hm..don't know the time, but it goes like "dadaddadadddadaddaddiiidiiiidiiiddiiii";) . It brings tears to my eyes:')

i didn't notice anything special about rundown either... it's more in the vein of projector and clearly quite straightforward in comparison to the other tracks on haven, but as far as i know the production is exactly the same (not the song. duh). perhaps there's something wrong with your cd... have you tried listening to other copies of it?

rahvin.

yeah, sure. everywhere the same.
but you must have heard it at least concerning the volume! all the other songs are quite a bit louder, and rundown is not a slow or peaceful song. the beginning ought to be quite loud (daaa-da-da-da-da--da.da.da.daaaa)...
