Thoughts On Using Stock Photography In Your Art?

I think (assume) what fubar was trying to say (or referring to - correct me if i'm wrong) was when the cover was posted and everyone was praising Geoff after someone credited him and I think some were disappointed to find it was a stock piece. I guess. Maybe it didn't seem as individual to them after seeing all the other people downloading it and doing stuff with it. I don't know.

Yes I was a bit dissapointed because I thought it was Geoffs original piece...and it turned out that he just added the DTB logo to a great stock pic. But hey whatever....I'll let this rest now. Its a great cover. :)

Yeah, this has turned into a good discussion on many boards, though. It's given me new insight on using stick photos. As for what Geoff said about paying for it, I don't have the e-mail anymore and I'm wondering if it was said by another mod at Dev's site. Not sure, though. All I know is that Geoff definitely said that that is the cover Devin wanted, shit, Devin could have come across that pic himself and told Geoff to use for all we know. There is also 10 more pages of artwork.

What are stick photos? haha, only joking. I'm really interested to see the other 10 pages that Geoff did, should be cool.
