Maybe it is just me, but I have always wanted to see a "greatest hits" as in sacking a QB and hitting a receiver while in the air etc. released with some of the killer thrash riffs from the 80's. played along with it. No vocals, just the music and maybe some of the crunching sounds from the game. Am I the only one who has thought about that ?

I can picture them using Deion's return to Atlanta. Remember the match up between Rison & Sanders when he came back to the Georgia Dome? Those two bitch slapping each other! I'm sure Chris Chandler(NFL's Crash test Dummie) would be on there a few times don't you think? That would be great use of Metallica's Jump in the Fire.
Having players getting sacked or whacked....
What about Joe Theisman's leg getting turned to dust?!
Or Bo Jackson's hip snapping like a tooth pick?!

Not meant offensive Sixx but I really don't see the fun part in watching people get hurt. I really like Bryants idea but injuries are not the reason why I watch sports. Anyway, Anthrax's Madhouse or Flotsam & Jesam's Hammerhead would also serve the purpose very well, I think.

OOHHH MAN!!!! It hurts to think about it! And they had to show it over and over and over and over again on tv for about 3 weeks.

Do you remember when Jason Kendell snaped his ankle sliding into first base?!! That was hard to watch also.

Not rying to change the subject of your thread Bryant. It does sound like a cool idea. How about using all sports, not just football.

Listen, it's not about "getting hurt", but what extraordinary things some of these atheletes do to "win." In the process some get hurt. I don't watch NFL footbal to watch people get hurt. Hell, my boy Michael Vick got hurt in preseason & cost them a trip to the playoffs....

I'm not a football fan, nor I know how to play football, but I know what you mean.

I always hoped to watch high flying wrestling matches with thrash.
also, as I have posted before, video games and thrash...

anything with action desrves thrash, but they never give in to it. :hotjump:

I think it would be fun to have Forbidden's "Over The Middle" from Green
included somewhere since it's all about football.

hmmmm....i like it. But that Rams/Panthers game last week needs something intense and dramatic! Oh yeh, what do you all think about the Superbowl? Patriots or Panthers?
Dude The Panthers deserve to be in the SB as I think they are the third best team in the NFL and the best in the NFC, but New England already beat the only team that could beat them the way they are playing right now, namely Tennessee. Carolina is balanced with a strong running game, mistake free passer in Delhomme (until he meets the Bellichick blitz schemes) and a tough defense so they will probably keep the game from getting out of hand, but I see NE winning by two scores.

I agree. Carolina is a very strong team. Delhomme is a good talent, but he has to be ready for those blitzes, you're right on that. I think it'll be an interesting game. But yeh, New England is gonna win. Tey're just on too good of a roll. I'm just glad to see a reletively still new team(1996 is still sorta new to me) make the Super Bowl.

That's cool !! I never heard that release, though I really like "Twisted Into Form." I've always thought about writing a metal song about the grid-iron gladiators. I know the networks really over-promote the Super-bowl, but that new Coors-Light commercial they have, where they are playing "For Those About to Rock"...... man that shit maes me where I can't decide if I want to cry or get up and go kick the next door neighbor's ass for the hell of it because I love metal and football soo much. When Brian screams "FIRE" and they shoot those fireworks off in the end-zone then they show a kick-off.... man !!!!! that is too cool.
I find it a bit odd, there don't seem to be many metal-heads that are also football-heads. I actually loved football from about 11-15, discovered metal, forgot about football, then at about 23-24 re-discovered football. Now I get depressed when the season is over because I don't like other sports.
I'll never forget Denver's first SB win maybe in 1998 ? John Elway was an aging QB (still good but not great like he once was, and had learned humility) and it was third and about 10 (maybe.. just trying to recall from memory.) Elway went back to pass, but the receivers were covered. Like the younger Elway, John tucked the ball in a and took-off scrambling. One camera angle was absolutely brilliant as they showed a close-up of him running toward the camera and his eyes got as big as old silver-dollars a couple of seconds before he dove and went airborne with the ball to reach the first down marker. A defender met him just before the marker and he "helicoptered" about 3/4 of the way around, but John got the first down. Awesome play. I will never forget it.
I will aslo never forget the St. Louis - Tennessee SB. That game was less than a yard away from a different outcome as the Tennessee receiver stretched as hard as he could for the goal line, but the St. Lious defender stopped him about a foot short as time expired. Of course not every game and SB are that close, but certainly there are some burned into my memory for a lifetime. I can remember The Steelers (my team) beating Baltimore 9-6 one year. Every yard gained was worked for with blood and sweat.

God I love football !!!!

Long live American football and metal music !!!

I TOTALLY recommend you picking up Distortion and Green. BIGTIME.
If you liked TIF, you'll love them. It's too bad Forbidden had to call it
a day. There are 2 versions of Green. The 'Standard' and the Japanese
which has a variation on the cover art and a cover of Priests Dissident
Aggressor. Forbiddens cover of "Victim of Changes" still shreds ass though.

Yeah dude that's fuckin awesome. I also love it when they play
"Welcome to the Jungle" when the 2 minute is called. A Tight Score,
getting ready for the play to start, and that Intro on "Welcome..."
just is kick ass IMO.

Yeah that is actually kind of weird! I like Baseball too so I'm covered.
Craig Locicero is a big 49er fan so he wrote "Over The Middle" about them.
I grew up on football and then for a couple years didnt watch and then
re-discovered it when I was 23-24 too.

Long live American football and metal music !!!

You're talking to a Yanks fan right here. :) Is she now your Ex because she was a Yanks fan? :) That was a great Yanks/Sox series! Was yelling at the TV so hard I almost lost my voice. It's shaping up to be a VERY interesting season this year.
