Testament should, IMHO, be up there with the so-called 'big four'. I think they're better than Metallica, personally. Master of Puppets may be the greatest thrash album ever released, but Testament is more consistent. First Strike Still Deadly is AMAZING, even though its a re-recording.
The Legacy, The Ritual and The Gathering (slight monotony in names there) are all also very good albums. You've probably heard them already, but this is a decent opportunity to wax lyrical about how much better they are than Metallica.
