Orphaned Land - "Mabool - the Story of the Three Sons of Seven"

I don't even know how to describe this disc - Middle-Eastern Progressive Death Folk Metal? I do know it's a fanastic retelling of the Biblical Deluge story with a modified storyline that unites Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam at it's end. Sung in four languages, with tons of ethnic insturmentation, weird melodies, crushing guitars, and all kinds of other weird stuff. True progressive metal - you won't find anything else that sounds like this. Bring an open mind, though, as this is pretty adventurous.

Fear Factory - "Archetype"

I haven't liked anything since "Demanufacture" - until this. A nice balance of anger, heaviness, and hooks that really sticks in your head. Sometimes going backwards isn't a bad idea...even people who haven't been fans before might get into this one.

Yeah, Demanufacture was their best album in my opinion. After that, they went down a road I didn't care for. Sounds like you are enthused enough about the new one though - I'll have to check it out.

Wow. That Orphaned Land album sounds extremely interesting. Does The End Records have it? I definitely would like to check it out!

I agree with everyone who says this is their best work since "Demanufacture". :)
