Ticketmaster just flat out sucks rant number 45,774,777

fuck ... so the venue holds probabyl 2000 ... at $50 a pop ... that's $100,000 from tickets alone ( how much do you think the band actually sees from this?)

also, I am sure at least 1/3 of the die hard crowd there will buy their merchandise ...

not a bad $$$ night for the band me thinks.

just thinking ... what exactly does Ticketmaster DO at this point as a business????

in the old days they actually had manned booths in Tower Records and other places, physically mailed out tickets to buyers. Another words, there was something actually visible for their outrageous charges.

NOW ... they make you print out a ticket as soon as you buy it. Then they are done ....

What exactly is the service charge for?????

Couldn't someone just come up with a simple ticketing software and sell it to venues, clubs, arenas, etc ... and let them do their own sales???

Even as a portal their website sucks

BB King's has 1,000 capacity for standing, maybe a couple 100 for seating at the tables.

$50 is fucking ridiculous guys, let's be honest. This is Emperor we're talking about, an underground BM band that is waaaaaaay past its prime. Why the reunion anyway? Are they getting back together or is this just for the concerts.

No argument, but because there's only one East coast date and a rare appearance for both bands (don't forget Celtic Frost, not that anyone could with that legendary thread), it's more reasonable than the Manowar/Rhapsody bill Mark mentioned...that just reeks of greed and inflated self-worth, even if they have a massive cult following...

ReGoddamndiculous! I was looking in to purchasing Dream Theater tickets at the Universal Amphitheater, which is a pretty dandy larger sized venue. Well to my chagrin ticketmaster's convenience charge is $10.50 per ticket. That's fucking almost the entire ticket price for Virgin Black at the knitting factory. What a fucking joke. There's no way around it either. If I drive down to the amphitheater's box office I'll be losing not only time, but also several gallons of gas, so either way I am fucked. Absolute bullshit.

Can you call the venue and pay with a credit card?

Stop thinking outside the box, you're making me look foolish.

Ahhh well, I forgot that Mayhem is playing in July. I think I'll just put my money towards that gig. EricT, will you be in attendance?

I am hoping to be... I'm still not on the ball with my travel plans yet. This friday I'm gonna arrange flights and such. Gonna stay at a hostel in LA, that a friend suggested. I trust his judgement.

There are no Hostels in Los Angeles. If there was I'd be down at one right now watching Barbara Njedekova undress before the shadow of my pale companion.

But yea don't worry. I know of some relatively safe parks.

Well, its not actually in LA, its in hollywood... I'm completely unfamiliar with the area, so I have no idea what the difference is. Theres quite a few out there actually.

I still find it funny when out of towners come out thinking Hollywood is some amazing, magical, beautiful, glitzy place. It's bullshit. Sure, some spots are nice but overall it's literally trash.

So yeah... Mayhem tour got canceled. Looks like I'll only be in town for Immortal.

Fuck... I wanted to see Sigh and Wolves so fucking BAD.

Were you going to be in town for Sigh/Wolves? Because Wolves in the Throne Room are still playing July 3rd. Sadly though, they're opening up for Shitt(((0)))
