Tickets on sale....Saturday? !?

OK, I bought the Gold Badges this year. Do I still have to buy tickets for the event? Or are the gold badges our tickets?

Funny you should ask. I got a gold badge for my friend last year well before tickets went on sale. I explained to him that the gold badge was the ticket for PP, and that we would receive them at the Pre-party or day of show, whichever... I arrived in Atlanta for the pre-party, and he was to fly in later that night. I called him to make sure he was on his way, which he was. In the middle of our conversation, during which he was checking in at the airport, he said "SHIT, call you later" and hung up.

He called me later, explained to me he had FORGOTTEN his progpower ticket at home, and subsequently MISSED HIS PLANE, forcing him to take an early flight the day of the show and shelling out an extra $100 for the flight.

After laughing my ass off for the next, oh, HOUR at him, I proceeded to tell everyone I was staying with. For, as you have probably guessed, he purchased a regular ticket on top of the Gold Badge, apparently choosing to ignore the fact that the Badge would get him in.

Oh, good times.

I have to decide on whether to buy 1 or 2. Boyfriend can't assure me he can make it because of his job and I hate purchasing a ticket for another person w/o being 100% sure they can go.

Never ever buy someone else a ticket if they can't commit. Tickets are always avalible because people buy too many and others drop out. Even if it sells out in 3 days, THERE WILL BE TICKETS AVALIBLE BETWEEN NOW AND OCTOBER.

So when he's ready to get one, he will not have a problem finding one later on. Just might not get it right away.

Just hoping ticket will not sell out in less than 3 hours. I have to take my sons to their baseball practices and scrimmage game at 10am naturally.

nailz is right.

It took me several years of attending before learning NOT to front a ticket for someone else. This year, I am ignoring the ticket sales because I have my confirmation number for two gold badges, and that is all I need. Everyone else can fend for themselves. :Smug:

Absolutely right, I've been burned enough to know!

lol, won't happen. Fastest I've ever seen it sell out in the 5 times I've seen it is 3 days.

I could have sworn I heard about a year that it sold out in 2 days, but maybe I'm just getting confused with the years it sold out in 3 days. Can anyone positively confirm or deny that for me? I know it's not a completely accurate representation of the PP population, but with the way everyone has been talking on the forum about this year's line-up being the strongest ever I would not be surprised if tickets sold out by Sunday or Monday. Not saying it will happen, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm getting tickets on Saturday for me and my boyfriend. I'll be up bright and early at 9:30 am, and poised at my computer by 9:55. I've been reminding our friends over and over again that tickets go on sale this Saturday because I really want them to be able to go, but ultimately it's on their shoulders. Hope they all get their tickets.

The fastest selling was VI and I believe that took 3 full days to sell out. I remember buying my tickets on Monday and there were only like 20 left at that point.
