So last year I purchased a TLAudio C-1 Stereo Valve Compressor from a friends studio gear sell off. I used to use one in a studio i worked in a few years ago and it was absolutely great. Great compression and colour to the signal.
The tubes hadn't been replaced in nearly 10 years or so, and the unit was fairly noisy. I replaced the two 12AX7's with a pair of Sovtek 12AX7-LPS (Spiral Filament) and the unit seemed to work great.

Every time i try to reprocess something through the unit, it add's some annoying and problematic resonance around the 200-300Hz range, that i'm compelled to remove, but then also causes the weight of the signal to disappear.

I've uploaded some samples from different sessions for people to check out and compare. Any theories or ideas would be awesome.

Mediafire Folder - I've got a vocal take, a snare drum and a high gain guitar amp signal. All pre and post compressor.
There's a WAV folder, an MP3 folder and a zip featuring all the WAV's.

Any ideas or theories to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
