To smoke or not to smoke.

RiA: I've never seen any of that stuff, but after the latest wave of park arrests I was reading about ordinary citizens wh can't even take their kids to a park they pay taxes for, and it made me angry that these park prowlers have such disregard for their fellow citizens that in their pursuit of the puckered chocolate starfish they create a hostile environment for everyone else

And yeah, I wouldn't want heteros doing that shit either.

There's actually a site cruisingforsex.com that lists all the "hot" places for the queers to hook up, including reader reviews and comments like, and I shit you not, "I've found the most wonderful variety of cock in the third floor men's room at Marshall Fields."

i was moderately drunk last night ...

@ liz ... yeah seen guys blowing eachother next to trees in this park by my house ... mountainbiking rules :loco:

Otherwise I don't care much, but weed makes you stupid

I know numerous people who have become stoners and it's affected them in negative ways, most notably fucking up at school/college because they spent all their time getting stoned. I'm sure everyone knows people like this. Personally, I can't think of one person who's drinking habit has has any real negative impact on their lives (aside from it generally not being all that great for you), and pretty much EVERYONE I know drinks regularly. Sure weed might not be as bad for your physical health as cigarettes and alcohol, but it's not like it's harmless.

I smoke weed every now and then, and it's cool and all. I don't have a problem with weed per se, more with the people who abuse it and become dependent on it. So I don't know where I really stand on whether or not it should be legalised, but I don't think it should be the sort of thing that you can pop around to the local shop and buy.

The danger of legalizing ganja and other drugs are people will not treat it as alcohol is, which is exactly how it should be treated.

People will treat it like cigarettes, basicly. ie: blazed in public.

Its really the opposite here, at least for people I know. Alcoholism is a big problem in this country, more so than drug abuse. As with ANY substance, if you abuse it, it becomes a problem, sometimes not just for yourself but also to those aroun you. Alcoholism is more socially acceptable than drug abuse of any kind, and drinking in general is just viewed with a kinder eye by the public. Any substance can be abused as well, but as far as health effetcs are concerned, its much safer to be a pot head than an alcoholic (not that I advocate either).

Consider yourself lucky. Substance abuse comes from all kinds of sources, I don't give a shit about the legality behind one of them. In general I see alcohol as being much more harmful than pot, but neither one is exactly safe. I've known plenty of alcholics and potheads, as well as casual drinkers and tokers.

That being said, beer >>>>>>>>>>> weed :dopey:

Oh yeah, obviously alcoholism is a more common problem here too. But that's because, at least where I live, pretty much everyone drinks whereas only a small minority smoke weed. My point was, it seems like it's more common for people to abuse weed than they do alcohol (if we're talking ratio of abusers:users sort of thing).

Damn man you don't know anyone who has fucked up at school/college because of booze? I'm almost positive more people fail out of college because of booze then ganj.

Honestly, no. But obviously I'm only speaking from personal experience, so maybe it doesn't generalise too well.

imo it isn't the marijuana's fault that your friends can't hold their lives together. this year i smoked a few times a day, endured an unexpected death, and dealt with the 4 most difficult months of my life, all while attending full time university classes.

the point? don't blame the drug for your friends' failures. same goes for alcohol as far as i'm concerned. fail out of school 'cause you boozed too much? tough fucking luck!

in response to doom i would say, pretty much all my friends at school most people would consider stoners and all of them are getting along fine...weed can exaggerate laziness/unmotivation, but i'm a seriously lazy-ass pothead and i manage to keep up a B average and a job. if people are gonna be slackers, they're gonna be slackers; don't blame mary jane! like any substance, legal or not, it can be abused--for every stoner out there smoking three times every day there's somebody smoking 2 packs of cigs and another downing a fifth of whiskey. the difference is the stoner isn't hacking up lung chunklets or beating up his kids ;)

I wonder if police are under the same sort of pressure as people protecting copyrights?

IE: No matter how small of a copyright infringement you discover, you have to go after it or else you loose all rights. So, if a little nursery school teacher is using one of your songs you have to be a douchebag and sue them or else when some big company does the same your fucked and have no rights.

I wonder if cops have to do this sort of thing or else they loose funding for other things that actually matter?

the method I have been using most recently is called vaporization. A small heating element is used to react with the THC in the cannabis thereby "vaporizing" the THC into your lungs, very little to no burning of the plant material or smoke inhalation occurs. This is also a very unique high, still slightly slower in onset than pure smoking though.
my roomate got a Volcano on 4:20. its the most awesome thing ever.
