Toms and the hell that is mixing them!

i usually cut alot of mids (like somewhere between 300-600, depending on tom), boost the fundamental(between 60-150 hz, depending..) and boost a slight bit of snap (between 2,5 and 5k, depending on tom
).
i usually don't compress too much, but sometimes (with weak hitters)i send the tom-bus to a stereo-group(pre-fader), compress the shit out of that group band blend it to the original tom-group, (upward compression).
that makes them sound like they've been hit harder, so they cut thru nicely and sound more powerful.
....an i edit'em all seperately....
chop them into pieces....hate that work, gotta have an intern do that....but then i dont trust interns that much...
