I already asked the producer who did the album what they used: (I hope he doesnt mind me reproducing this message on this board but yeah)
Hi man,

Thanks! For all the guitars Ciaran and Mick used their Gibson SG and Gibson Les Paul studio respectively, for the amp we used my Green Matamp GTL 120 (which is an awesome amp and you can see it in my photos) and my green 4x12, with the EQ and drive settings changed slightly for each as well as for solos. We had the amp set fairly crunchy and then used a marshall guvnor distortion pedal to make it heavier. We may have used a Fender Twin reverb also for some of the clean guitars, but I can't remember for sure!

Mics, I used a neumann TLM193 and an SM57 both close to the centre of the cone and then it was recorded though the desk which is a lovely old Trident series 80B consol using its preamp and EQ as well.

Thanks again and I hope this helps!!

All the best

Chris

This album sounds awesome, great production. Way better album than Wilderness... in every possible way.

I was wondering if you guys could try and get this sound with more common means. Maybe I should just get the Marshall Guv'nor (or DIY clone it) and see if I can get it with another amp.

P.S. Checking in from Bonaire, the Dutch Caribbean.

OWNED :kickass:
