Toneport: Difference between Instrument In (Pad: ON) and Mic In (pre knob on zero)?

I have this Line6 Toneport question. Is there any difference between I plug my bass guitar (active pickups) on the instrument input (with the pad switch turned on) or plug it on Mic input (with the pre knob on zero)?

I´m asking this because I´m planning to use my Sansamp BassDriver DI with phantom power (only availbe on Mic inputs). I will also track guitars (also active pickups) though the Bass Driver DI (but with the bypass switch, of ocurse).

The bass input will likely be a Hi-Z one whereas the mic input will be looking for a Lo-Z signal. If the SanSamp works like any other DI it will output your signal as Lo-Z, so you should be able to plug out of it into the mic input.
