Hi All,

I've been on a massive Tony Martin era-Sabbath kick lately. Not only do each of those albums slay (heck, even Forbidden has some great moments), but Tony's voice is powerful & immense yet silky-smooth...and he's easily one of the most underrated vocalists in the metal world.

Tyr is among Sabbath's best records, IMO. Cross Purposes and Headless Cross are right behind it, as well. And the track "Eternal Idol" is one of Iommi's darkest, most doom-ridden riffs. And Martin sings like the devil himself here!

With all of this said, I just ordered his new solo record (Scream) without having heard a single note. Anyone here familiar with it?

Agreed with the above. He rules hardcore. I currently have HC in my changer at home. Just fantastic Metal.

I've got "Scream". It's a good hard rockin' album. Tony's voice sounds good, and there are a handful of pretty solid tracks. I was impresed by the fact that Tony plays most of the instruments on the album, so it's shows that he's more than just a singer (although the cd is sorely lacking in guitar solos). He get's a little experimental in a couple of places, mixing in fiddle and motorcycle revs and such. Definately worth picking up if you're a Tony Martin fan.

"Scream" is good, but if you're on a Tony Martin kick, you've gotta pick up the two Mollo/Martin "Cage" cds -- those are absoultely brilliant!

I traded got a boot of one of his live shows from his solo tour. Sound quality's not great, but check out the setlist. Here are some songs that we'll never hear Black Sabbath play live again! :
The Lawmaker
I Witness
Eternal Idol
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
Valhalla
Children of the Sea
When Death Calls
Dying for Love
Scream
The Shining
Headless Cross
Paranoid
War Pigs

Great BS era (except for the dreadful "Forbidden"). He has a very distinctive voice and is appreciated :D

I love Tony Martin (well the one that sings metal anyway.) If anyone here is a Martin fan I strongly suggest finding the rare Misha Calvin "Evolution I." It is closer to say Whitesnake than Black Sabbath, but I think it is easily some of Martin's best work. I sent it to Trix when I received "the package."

If I liked Paranoid, what would be another good Sabbath era to check out?

I don't care for any of their other Ozzy albums.
