Too tight guitars?

Hi!

I'm currently mixing some songs by some band ( ) and I wondered if I edited the guitars too much here:

The first time the riff comes in it's edited, the second time it's not...easy to hear the difference - which one do you like better?

I prefer the "tightened" one tbh...

If something else sucks about this mix - please tell me.
Is the kickdrum too loud?

I prefer the unedited version. I think the performance is tight enough as it is.

Agreed, don't chop out the notes during the fast parts but clean up the start/end of each little chugfest. The edited version sounded too unnatural with all of the little chops between every single note.

I like the chopped-of guitars for this kind of music. Gives it some mechanical vibe. I think it fits the music real good!

I like the edited, but sometimes it's too obvious. I wouldn't leave it unedited but ease a bit.

Sounds different with the added guitar tracks now anyway...I "untightened" it a bit.

I also wasn't aware that the snare sample/reverb sounded that weird, haha.

Nothing really fancy.

I also like the second version better. Editing is good, but the extreme version was a bit over the top.
Btw, before listening to the new version i wanted to say that the riff seemed pretty repetitive, but together with the clean guitar + effects in the second sample it's very cool
