Sonata Arctica - Dream Thieves

I have all of Sonata's studio albums, but I've never heard of this song...

And speaking of Sonata, I have to give this shameless plug - in October 2006 (pre-shoulder tattoos), I played a show with an on-campus cover band I was in (for a class called Rock Combo, if you can believe it), and we covered "The Cage" - the big girl was our main singer, and she was actually good (though a total drama queen bitch), but she got the little girl to do guest vox, and yes, I know, she's horrible.

BUT - I'm very proud of my versions of the opening KEYBOARD solo (oy...) and the solo at 3:57, so those are the parts worth watching :heh:

Going slightly off topic here, sorry, but maybe more of you will be interested...

Metalhead28, yes I am! I have the re-released version of Focus : [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Focus-Cynic/dp/B0002ZYDXS[/ame]. It includes this song as a bonus track from the Portal demo as well with Cynic's new song and other goodies such as remixed tracks. The booklet is orgasm-inducing.

It is probably one of my most prized musical possessions. Please get it if you are a Cynic fan. Amazing presentation and booklet. Cynic have inspired me musically and are up there in my list of favourite bands. Top 3 definitely.

PS - Great idea for a thread for a reference to find new bands and songs!

Pretty cool song, though I can see it was a B-side, cuz it's a little random at times, like a lot of Unia (sounds like it's from that era).

What'd you think of my version? ;)

Dream thieves is obviously too good for the A side.
The song is very dark though. It's not the typical sonata arctica song, because of its different style/feel. Perhaps that's why I think it's so good.

I didn't hear the intro solo that good, but it sounded alright. The real solo was spot on. :)

Oh, I've got it. :kickass:

Along with the original edition CD, the original edition on Vinyl, and every demo they ever put out. I'm a Cynic maniac.

They are my favorite band by several orders of magnitude. :)

Queen - We Are the Champions
Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills
Sonata Arctica - Fullmoon (RUNAWAY RUNAWAY RUNAWAY!!)

Masterplan - Into the Light
Symphony X - Of Sins and Shadows
Arch Enemy - Ravenous
Deadsy - Mansion World (who the fuck listens to deadsy anymore?? if at all)

Kamelot - Soul Society
Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum
Opeth - Bleak
Sonata Arctica - Caleb
Tool - Vicarious
