Disappointments of 2010

[Dreadful]

Misery Index broke their streak of releasing solid eps and full lengths when "Discordia" came out (for anyone doubting M.I's songwriting skills buy the newly released compilation of all their ep tracks dating back to 'overthrow'). Everything just got pretty generic since that...but "Heirs to Thievery" is the best one of them all so they're on the up swing for now.

Metal has been a mere fart factory since 2007 but my top 10 most enjoyable for this year:

Immolation - majesty and decay
Nevermore - the obsidian conspiracy
agalloch - marrow of the spirit
alcest - escales de lune, or whatever the fuck
altars of plagues - tides
Cathedral - the guessing game
Tombs - fear is the weapon (even though it's really just their first record and demos)
dark tranquillity - we are the void
enslaved - axioma ethica odini
howl - full of hell and black tusk are tied

I'm looking forward to Times of Grace and Ulcerate next year...or really, next month. yes!
