not the best of 2004 but one of the bests for sure...

I know 2005 wasn't a good year for new releases, with the exception of TGE and Exodus' SHKM, but taking a sentimental journey back to the previous year might be overdoing it a bit
I have to admit to going back to 2004 a lot, though, for stuff to play. In particular the two NECROPHAGIST

releases, Onset Of Putrefaction and Epitaph. To me, they're the most exciting new (as in first time on to CD) band since the debut of Nevermore, and perhaps even longer back...

Wintersun's self titled debut was great. Iced Earth's "The Glorious Burden" was also great.

The Wretched Spawn kicks ass, but I prefer the other O'Brien era albums over it. The DVD that came with it fucking rules, though.
The forsaken's Traces of the Past was another great 04 release, and technically Demigod, which is superb, was an 04 release as well.
