Tracking leads/solos in the same room as the amp.

I generally track guitars in a separate room from the amp. I've found though that that's not very good for leads where you want some notes to feedback in places or if you want a note to sustain for a couple of bars. So I've moved my lead tracking into the same room as the amp. Does anyone else do it this way or am I a maniac?

I still track rhythms in the "control" room. Which would be my bedroom.

go to about 40 seconds in, they kind of talk about doing this. Not really with lead but with rhythm to get more of a live/raw feel.

I just crank the monitors and automate the click down when I need feedback or sustain
