Hey all, figured this would be a good place to ask.

I've advertised my Peavey Windsor online and had someone offer me a Jet City as a trade. I quite fancy it though the guys lives at the other end of the country so we'd have to both ship our amps to each other. This isn't something I've dealt with before so I'm unsure of the best way to protect myself.

He's given me his ebay account and has very good feedback, (I've also given him mine and my feedback from on here) I'm going to ask him for some pictures of the amp aswell.

What else can I do to make sure I'm safe? I don't doubt he's a genuine guy but I always think it's better to be a bit paranoid with these things.

"Why dont we both list our amps on ebay and buy from each other for say £200 inclusive of shipping
If we both the but via paypal we have all the protection we need
We then cancel the sale as soon as we have the items and get our fees returned
This would give us both peace of mind"

Sound safe enough?

i actually traded my laney tony iommi amp for a krankenstein. dude called me after seeing an add on craigslist and just shipped his amp to me, then i shipped him mine.

make sure you get all contact info like home/cell phone, home address, first and last name, etc... the more ways to make contact, the better.
